A wonderful carved wood statue of the Virgin Mary holding Christ as a child, dating to the 16th/17th century. The whole piece has been expertly carved and depicts the Virgin Mary stood upon a crescent moon. There are a few condition issues (detailed condition report below).

Condition:
Mary's right arm is missing. Both of Christ's arms are missing. One of Christ's feet and tips of toes on the other are missing. A bit of damage to front of Mary's hat/hair. Section missing from base. Old worm holes scattered throughout (treated). Age related wear as expected but acceptable condition and displays well. Please examine photos carefully.
