A Vanuatu war club, dating to the 19th century. This club has a finely carved head consisting of lozenge shaped lobes set under a domed top. The long shaft finishes with a knopped end. This is a good heavy club that has an attractive dark colour and patina.

Condition:
The dome top has old damage/loss. There is some further old damage/loss to the terminal end and some age related shrinkage cracks. Age related wear as expected. Overall good. Please examine photos carefully.
