A fine painting of The Mystical Marriage of Saint Catherine, dating to the late 18th century. Oil on canvas laid to wood panel and presented in a substantial period gilt frame. The painting is after Antonio da Correggio (1489-1534), the original of which is held in The Louvre in Paris. The painting offered here is a fine rendition and has captured a wonderful mood. There is a faint inscription on the back of the frame that I cannot decipher.
