A painting of Saint Margaret of Antioch, dating to the 17th century. Oil on copper panel and later presented in a 19th century black and gilt frame. This fine quality painting is either Flemish or Italian and depicts Margaret of Antioch with a hand raised in gesture and the other holding a crucifix. A depiction of Satan in the form of a dragon or monster creeps in from the lower right corner. This is a striking painting with good detail that is painted to a very high standard.
