This fine quality painting depicts a show jumper named Chief set within a stable. This is a wonderful painting with bold composition as the horse takes almost the whole size of the canvas. It is signed and dated “Herbert. St. John Jones. 1927.” lower left and “Chief” lower right. It is further inscribed verso.
