A pastel portrait of a gentleman named William Jordan, dating to the second half of the 18th century. Pastel on paper and presented under glass in a later gilt frame with inner oval aperture (19th century). This portrait depicts a gentleman named William Jordan dressed in a grey jacket and white cravat. A label verso identifies the sitter and reads “Portrait of William Jordan of Eagle House, Edmonton, buried 21 May 1781”.

Condition:
Some minor foxing and blemishes in areas. The oval mount has four old splits that have been restored. There is wear to the gilding, craquelure and some scuffs and losses to the corner edges. Age related wear as expected. Overall in good ready to hang condition. Please examine photos carefully.
