A portrait painting of a gentleman, signed “A. Stephens” and dated 1850 lower left on the mount. Watercolour on card with arched top and mounted upon gilt card, presented in a later gilt frame (21st century) under glass/perspex. This fine quality painting depicts a handsome gentleman, presumably an architect, holding a drawing or plans, and sitting in an interior with a draftsman set on the table to his side and an architectural model of a church upon a sideboard in the back. This is an excellent quality watercolour that has a great amount of detail.
