A portrait painting of a young lady, dating to the second half of the 19th century. Oil on panel and presented in a period gilt frame. This fine painting depicts a half length portrait of a young lady wearing a black dress (possibly in mourning?) with a small seed pearl brooch, large gold bangle and wonderful large gold earrings. She is sat on an elaborate chair and set in an interior with a hint of red drapery. This is a great portrait that is well painted and captivating due to the straight-on pose and composition.
