An oval portrait of a handsome young gentleman, dating to circa 1790. Pastel on paper and presented under glass in a period oval gilt frame with inner gilt mount. This fine quality pastel portrait depicts a handsome, young gentleman with a powdered wig and wearing a navy jacket with white cravat. This is a fantastic portrait in all aspects – the technique of the pastel is excellent and the sitter is a striking character that the artist has captured exceptionally well.
