A portrait painting of a Greyhound, indistinctly signed and dated 1916 lower left. Oil on canvas and presented in a later mid 20th century gilt swept frame. This fine quality painting depicts a portrait of a Greyhound set within a landscape. There is a slight folk-art/naive charm to this painting and it has great appeal, especially with the presentation in its substantial and good quality frame. I particularly like the swirling brushstrokes in the sky and clouds.

The painting has two small patch repairs – one corresponding to a small part of the nose and sky, the other patch corresponds to the cloudy sky on the right side of the dog. Some fine craqueleur in areas. Varnish slightly discoloured. Age related wear as expected. Overall in good ready to hang condition. Please examine photos carefully.
