A fine quality portrait of a gentleman, dating to circa 1830. Oil on canvas laid to board and presented in a period gilt swept frame. This is a charming portrait of a gentleman wearing a dark jacket, yellow waistcoat, a white shirt with a high collar and a white cravat. The portrait is set within an interior with red curtains and a window overlooking a dark cloudy landscape. The gentleman has a gold fob watch on display and is sitting on a fine Regency mahogany chair. There is a wonderful hint of green paisley fabric in the lower right background.
