A portrait miniature painting of William Medlicott, dating to circa 1840. Oil on card and presented in a gilt oval mount and later gilt swept frame (glazed). This fine quality painting depicts a half-length portrait of William Medlicott, dressed in a black jacket, black waistcoat, white shirt and a black cravat. Label verso reads “William Medlicott of Pitchholds, More, Salop. Bap. 13th June 1794. Died 17 July 1858.”. There are multiple online references/resources detailing the Medlicott family's history, including a recent family tree that traces ancestors back to the 16th century, and there is additional information/history which dates back even further.
