An Aboriginal pineapple head club, likely dating to the late 19th century. This wooden club from Queensland, Australia, is of typical form with a “pineapple” carved head and a long tapering shaft with a carved textured grip. What makes this example unusual is the pineapple area of the head has been painted. The club has an excellent colour and patina.
