A fine quality pair of pastel portraits of a gentleman and lady, presumably husband and wife, dating to circa 1790. Pastel on paper and presented in their original period gilt frames (glazed). These portraits capture a wonderful mood and are in the manner of the much celebrated James Sharples who did similar pastel portraits of George Washington and others.

The pictures appear in good condition. The frames have had restoration in places including restoring previous splits on both. Age related wear as expected but overall in good ready to hang condition. Please examine photos carefully.
