A papier-mache circular snuff box, dating to circa 1800. The cover is finely hand-painted with a portrait of Peter Paul Rubens, dressed in a red jacket with a white collar/ruff and a black hat. Faintly titled “Rubens” to the right side of the portrait. The box has a worn gilt interior.

Condition:
The painting has some slight surface wear including a faint scratch that goes over the gentleman's forehead. The top edge of the lid has a fine but stable crack. Some knocks/chips to the edges of both the lid and the box's base. Age related wear as expected but otherwise in good condition. Please examine photos carefully.
