A papier-mache circular snuff box, dating to circa 1800. The cover is hand-painted with a portrait of a miser with two bags of coins. Inscribed to the top “Miser in fear”. The box has a gilt interior and is unsigned.

Condition:
The painting has some small specks of paint loss, surface wear and scratches. There is a small area of loss/damage to the lower-right edge section of the lid. The base of the box has a couple of small knocks/chips to the edge. Age related wear as expected but otherwise in good condition. Please examine photos carefully.
