A pair of Florentine paintings of musical angels, dating to the second half of the 19th century. Oil on gilt panels and presented in their original and ornate gothic gilt frames. Each painting depicts an angel with a trumpet, one dressed in red robes and the other in green. These fine quality paintings are faithful 19th century renditions after Fra Angelico, the originals painted during the 15th century. These are a highly decorative pair of paintings with their gothic style architectural/tabernacle frames. One of the paintings has an old Alfredo Candida & Co label on the reverse.

Condition:
Some faint surface marks. Both frames have some restoration to the top decorative elements and spires that have been rebuilt and regilded. There are some small cracks in areas of the restoration. Age related wear as expected. Overall in good ready to hang condition. Please examine photos carefully.
