A delightful pair of floral still-life paintings, dating to the mid/second half of the 19th century. Oil on canvas and presented in period maple frames with gilt slips. Each painting depicts a shoe holding flowers, one is set upon a book with “Jennie” written on the spine and a lock of hair entwined with flowers on the surface in front. The other has a more elaborate display of red and white posies with the shoe set upon a wooden table. These are a wonderful and naïve pair of paintings that have a lot of charm.

Painting with blue flowers has a touch-in top right background. Some surface dirt/varnish discolouration. Minor wear to the frames. Age related wear as expected but overall in good ready to hang condition. Please examine photos carefully.
