A lovely pair of floral still-life paintings, dating to the second half of the 18th century. Oil on wood panel and presented in period gilt frames. Each painting depicts an arrangement of flowers in a stone urn on a ledge, set within a landscape. One has a bumble bee resting on a flower and the other has a butterfly mid-flight at the top of the arrangement. These are a very decorative pair of paintings that have a wonderful pastel-like colour palette.

Condition:
One has some possible touching-in/restoration on areas but very well matched in and hard to tell. Each frame has evidence of cracks/splits which is common on these types of frames, but they are structurally solid. Age related wear as expected but overall in good ready to hang condition. Please examine photos carefully.
