A fine carved wood statue of the Nuremberg Madonna, dating to the second half of the 19th century. This fine statue is after a work by Adam Kraft (1455-1509), the original carved in circa 1510 and is displayed in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum. This statue is excellently carved with an impressive level of detail to the folds of the clothes. The piece has an attractive rich colour and patina and is in excellent condition.

Some minor surface marks. Very small chip to part of the robe near the base. Age related wear as expected but overall in excellent condition. Please examine photos carefully.
