Description:

A Naive School portrait of a gentleman, dating to circa 1810. Oil on canvas laid to panel and presented in a later (20th C) gilt frame. An unknown sitter sporting a Titus haircut with curls combed forward onto the forehead. The gentleman is dressed in a black jacket, white shirt and cravat, and a bold orange waistcoat.

Dimensions:

Picture size: 23.4cm x 17.5cm.

Frame size: 28.6cm x 22.5cm.

Condition:

Picture has a restored horizontal tear or fold mark across the centre – visible across the shirt. Slight paint thinning/loss throughout, notably to orange waistcoat. Age related wear as expected but presents well and is in otherwise ready to hang condition. Please examine photos carefully.
