Description:

A wonderful pair of paintings depicting a Turkish gentleman and a soldier, dating to circa 1820. Watercolour on paper and presented in period rosewood veneered frames with gilt slips (glazed). These are a delightful pair of portraits in a naïve style and each titled; 1. “A Turkish Gentlman of Bagdad.”. 2. “Nobechi (?), an armed footman of the British.”. One is further inscribed “Drawn by R. Craggs(?)”.

Frame sizes: 25.9cm x 21.4cm.

Condition:

Minor light spotting in places. The frames show signs of wear and tear. Age related wear as expected but overall in good ready to hang condition. Please examine photos carefully.
