Description:
A folk art portrait painting of a gentleman, signed/monogrammed “JF” (or FJ) and dated “July 1906” lower right. Oil on tin panel and presented in a wonderful quality 19th century veneered frame with gilt slip. This charming painting depicts a smartly dressed elderly gentleman sitting and drinking from a tankard whilst holding a broadsheet. There are some well observed details such as the clock and painting on the wall, a pipe upon the table and his walking stick resting against his leg.

Condition:
Some faint surface marks and some small areas of touch-ins/restoration including a small touch-in on his face, the largest touch-in being across his jacket. Age related wear as expected. Overall in good ready to hang condition. Please examine photos carefully.
