A Nagaland necklace, dating to the early 20th century or possibly before. This necklace from the Naga people of Northeast India comprises a cast brass depiction of three severed trophy heads – symbolic of the heads taken by the warrior that would've worn it. The three heads are attached to a strand of coloured glass trade beads. Provenance: Hansjorg Mayer Collection.
