A fine painting depicting Christ as the Man of Sorrows, dating to the 17th century. Oil on canvas and presented in a later (20th century) carved gilt frame. The painting is likely a fragment from a larger piece and has condition issues (listed below),however it does capture a powerful mood and is a striking image. Recently relined.

The painting is likely a fragment from a larger piece. It has suffered with multiple rips and tears and has been relined but the surface is slightly uneven in places (previous patches underneath) – the last photo is in a raked light to demonstrate this. When the painting is viewed in an even light the issues aren't as visible and presents well. Please examine photos carefully.
