A carved wood statue of the Madonna & Child, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. This finely carved statue depicts the Virgin Mary dressed in billowing robes and holding the Christ child in her arms. This is a particularly fine carving of good size, colour and patina. There is an inscription of the reverse, possibly a signature reading “Dorigo V”.

Condition:
Some minimal woodworm holes to the base. The base is made of three pieces of timber and the join between them is slightly visible. Age related wear as expected. Overall good. Please examine photos carefully.
