A carved gilt wood Corinthian capital and column, dating to the early 19th century. This finely carved capital was perhaps part of a grand piece of furniture or architectural decoration. The column has been roughly cut at a slightly skewed angle so can only be displayed with the capital as the base. It displays wonderfully as a fragment but could be adapted and turned into a stand, a lamp base, etc.

Condition:
Multiple small losses to the capital's carved decoration. Gilding worn in places. Areas of old worm (treated) and related damage to the capital. Age related wear as expected. Please examine photos carefully.
