A wonderful carved gilt wood candlestick (now a lamp base), dating to the early 18th century. Lovely old carving with a great colour, the candlestick has been converted to an impressive lamp base with a brass rod through the middle and an old fixture on top.
The piece is not wired and therefore sold as not working or tested. Relatively simple job for a professional to wire with an appropriate modern fixture.

Condition:
Some traces of glue beneath the drip-tray suggest the top has been broken and reattached. Some of One of the feet has also been broken and reattached. Multiple areas of old loss, knocks and bumps and some cracks. The piece is in “distressed”/shabby chic condition but appears relatively solid and stable. Age related wear as expected but displays well. Please examine photos carefully.
