A fine Kashmiri lacquer papier-mache pen box, dating to circa 1880. Of casket form with slightly convex lift-off lid revealing a blue lacquer interior. The box's exterior is intricately decorated with gilded and painted floral and boteh motifs.

Some wear to the decoration particularly to one area of the lid (see last photo). Some small losses/damage to the box's inside rim. Age related wear as expected. Please examine photos carefully.
