A fine Kashmiri lacquer papier-mache letter box, dating to circa 1900. The box has a hinged dome lid revealing an interior segmented for letters. The box's exterior is richly decorated with painted floral and gilded designs against a black ground.

Condition:
Slight splitting to one end of the lid (stable). Small touch-ins to the decoration on the front of the lid. Some splits and loss to decoration around the base's edge. Age related wear as expected. Please examine photos carefully.
