A Native American beaded purse/bag, dating to the late 19th century. This bag can be attributed to the Iroquois of the Great Lakes/Northeast Woodlands region. This finely worked bag is constructed of a textile ground with brown velvet and intricately decorated with glass beads. The decoration on both sides consists of floral motifs in multiple colours. This is a particularly fine example of its type and has two inner sections with a third inner pouch on one side.
