A harlequin “Jumping Jack” toy, dating to the late 19th century. This Jumping Jack toy is double-sided and depicts a Harlequin with articulated arms and legs that raise when the string is pulled. Constructed of wood with a naively painted face and the body painted in green, red and blue chevron designs. This is a charming toy that is also a wonderful piece of folk art.
