A pair of carved wood Neoclassical statues, dating to the early 19th century. This pair of Grand Tour statues are finely carved depicting Neoclassical beauties dressed in robes and stood upon column plinths. These would've likely have been polychromed and decorated with colour, but they appear to have been left out in the elements and naturally weathered down to the wood with traces of white gesso remaining, developing an incredible and attractive patina.
