A lovely, South German, carved giltwood watch stand, dating to circa 1750. This fine watch stand is elaborately carved with openwork scrolls and two putti; one with a basket reclining on the base, the second sitting on top of the piece. This is a wonderful quality stand that is carved to a high standard and retains its original gilding.

Condition:
The piece appears to have been professional restored with multiple sections reattached but done to a very high standard as it's very hard to notice (partially visible on the reverse). Some small areas of loss to the gilding. Age related wear as expected but overall in good condition. Please examine photos carefully.
