A Fijian throwing club, dating to the 19th century. This wooden club from Fiji is known as an “Ula” and is a type of throwing club that is hurled at enemies from a far distance. This example is a ball-headed form with the head showing natural crevasses and the handle terminating in a finely carved grip of tavatava designs. The ula has a good dark colour and patina.

Condition:
The head has multiple knocks and bumps. Some age related vertical splits but stable. Age related wear as expected. Overall good. Please examine photos carefully.
