A Fijian carved wood Totokia war club, dating to the 19th century. This Totokia has a large heavy striking head with a formidable spike and rows of sharp knob-like projections. The shaft has an elegant curve and the grip is carved with intricate tavatava. This is a great and old example with an exceptional dark colour and glossy patina.
