Description:
A Fijian carved wood Sali war club, dating to the 19th century. This is a large and heavy example with a formidable spur and a broad head and that is finely carved with circular decoration and bands of triangles. The shaft terminates with a knopped end. This club would've taken a large warrior to wield and it is a good example of its type with an attractive colour and patina.
