Description:

A Fijian Ituki/Totokia club, dating to the early 19th or late 18th century. This club is a large and heavy example with the striking head having a large and broad spike and rows of sharp knob-like projections. An interesting feature of this club is a partial hole on the head that would've held inlay - a rare addition to clubs and even rarer on Ituki and Totokias. This club has a superb dark rich colour and glossy patina. The Ituki form is believed to predate the Totokia, with examples having been collected during Cook's visits in the 1770s.
