Description:

A Fijian carved wood bowl, dating to the 19th century. This is a rare and unusual type of bowl that is oval shaped with flat ends. There is a lug on the underside that has a partial hole (doesn't go all the way through). This bowl has an excellent colour and patina. A similar example can be found in the British Museum object number: Oc1920,0322.4

Dimensions:

Length: 41.3cm. Width: 23.6. Height: approx 7.1cm.

Condition:

Old chip to one end. Crack/split to one side/corner. Age related shrinkage cracks to the central underside and other areas. Age related wear as expected. Overall good. Please examine photos carefully.
