An ebonised crucifix and silver plate Corpus Christi, dating to the second half of the 19th century. The finely cast silver plate Corpus Christi is mounted upon an ebonised wood cross with silver plate mounts and skull and crossbones, set upon a plinth with four round feet and decorated with a silver plate plaque of the Virgin Mary as Our Lady of Sorrows with a sword piercing her heart. This is an impressive crucifix that is well adorned and is of a good tall size.

Condition:
Evidence that Christ has been moved across slightly leaving previous holes. Modern nails holding Christ to the cross through his hands and no nails through the feet. The cross leans slightly to one side and is not perfectly straight. Tarnishing to the metal in areas. Age related wear as expected. Overall good. Please examine photos carefully.
