An African club, dating to the 19th or early 20th century. This wooden club is a rare and unusual form, possibly from East Africa? It is an elegant shape with a bird-head/beak shaped head with a raised central ridge set upon a tapering, curved shaft. It is carved from a light coloured dense wood and appears to have a native filled repair to a split on the top of the head.

The head appears to have a native filled repair to an old split. Some very fine and minor age related vertical splits. Age related wear as expected. Overall good. Please examine photos carefully.
