A carved coquilla nut snuff box, dating to the early 19th century. This finely carved snuff box is in the form of a shoe, the hinged lid is finely carved with a portrait of a lady in profile against radiating lines. The sides of the snuff box are carved with leaves and are flanked by intricately carved borders. This is a wonderfully tactile piece that has an excellent colour and patina.

Tip of the underside has been reattached and felt has been applied on the inside to help secure it. Some age related splits. Age related wear as expected. Overall good. Please examine photos carefully.
