A superb carved wood bust of a lady, dating to the first half of the 18th century or possibly earlier. Wonderful quality and attention to detail, specifically the headdress with rows of pearls intertwined in her hair. Traces of polychrome and gilding to the reverse indicate this piece was once painted and gilded.
