A carved wood statue of the risen Christ, dating to circa 1700. This finely carved statue depicts the risen Christ, overcoming death by his resurrection. Wonderfully carved and full of movement in a dynamic baroque pose. Christ's arms outstretched and his robes and hair billowing in the wind. Excellent attention to detail with carefully observed anatomy. The statue has a great colour and patina and has been later presented on a wooden display stand.

Condition:
Both feet missing and later presented on a wooden display stand. Half of left arm/hand missing. Right arm reattatched. Two tips of fingers missing on right hand. Small piece of robe missing from top right and small piece reattatched. Historic woodworm throughout. Age related wear as expected. Overall good. Please examine photos carefully.
