Description:

A bronze statue of a Greyhound or Whippet, dating to the second half of the 19th century. This finely cast bronze statue depicts a recumbent greyhound or whippet with crossed front paws, mounted on a grey marble base. This is a lovely small bronze that has great detail and an excellent colour and patina. A similar bronze by Pierre Jules Mene (1810-1879) is in the collection of The Cleveland Museum of Art, inv: 1942.801.

Condition:

The base has multiple chips and nibbles around the edges and corners with a larger chip along the lower edge central. Age related wear as expected. Please examine photos carefully.
