A Black Forest carved wood gnome, dating to the late 19th century. This fine carving depicts a full figure of a gnome holding a piece of quartz whilst stood upon a rocky base. It is likely the quartz is a later addition and originally the gnome was holding something else (pen holder?), however a Black Forest gnome desk tidy with base inset with quartz sold in Hutchinson Scott Auctioneers 04/08/2023 sale (lot 861). Please note the condition issue listed below.

Height when displayed: 13.7cm (15cm including quartz). Width: 7.6cm. Depth: 7.4cm.
Condition:
The statue has been broken at both ankles/legs and reattached (see photos). Damage/reshaping of the tip and rim of his hood. Age related wear as expected. Otherwise in good condition. Please examine photos carefully.
