A small Black Forest carved wood inkwell in the form of a bear's head, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. This finely carved piece depicts the head of a bear with glass eyes. The upper section opens on a brass hinge to reveal a compartment for a small inkwell that is now missing. Please note the small size of this piece – can be compared to other Black Forest inkwells in the last photo.
