A excellent carved & stained pine artist's lay figure, dating to circa 1850. Articulated and finely carved with great detailing to the face, torso, hands and feet. Excellent colour and patina. The carved details include ears, fingernails, toenails, and elegantly posed fingers. The features of the face are well observed and capture a serene expression. There are some condition issues including wire repairs that are listed below.

Condition:
Missing part of left arm. Wire repair to right shoulder joint which prevents full movement but does retain some (hampers movability by around 70%). Right hip/thigh ball joint damaged and held together with wire repair but this joint retains full movability. Chips/damage throughout, notably to left shoulder and front of right thigh. Some missing toes on both feet. Despite the condition issues he feels quite sturdy and can be in a seated pose without support. Please view photos carefully.
