Description:

A carved alabaster statue of the “The Greek Slave”, dating to the second half of the 19th century. This finely carved statue depicts a nude lady chained to a post and is after Hiram Power's (1805-1873) “The Greek Slave” that currently resides in the Smithsonian American Art Museum. This is a lovely small carving in the Neoclassical style and after an incredibly popular and important sculpture from the 19th century.

Dimensions:

Height: 22.8cm. Width: 6.3cm. Depth: 6.1cm.

Condition:

Small chip to the tip of nose. Missing and partial-missing fingers on left hand. Possible small chip to little toe on left foot. Age related wear as expected. Overall good. Please examine photos carefully.
