Description:

A charming carved alabaster sculpture of a young boy in his “Sunday best”, dating to circa 1890. The young boy is wearing a flatcap and a jacket with a waistcoat and shirt, finished with a bow tie. His hands are tucked into his bloomers whilst holding a binocular case. A fob watch chain is hanging out of a waistcoat pocket, and his dress shoes are tied with bows. The sculpture is of great quality with wonderful attention to detail. The piece is unsigned.

Dimensions:

Height: 35.6cm. Width: 13.5cm. Depth: 11.5cm.

Condition:

Hole between his right arm and jacket indicate he was holding something now missing – possibly a swagger or walking stick? There are some natural flaws within the alabaster including a fine surface-level crack to the front of the base – this does not travel all the way through and appears to just be surface level. Age related wear as expected but overall in great condition. Please examine photos carefully.

Postage:

Item will be sent tracked and signed-for.
